Caring is sharing

Pressure will continue to tighten on social care over the next few years, and as Izzi Seccombe says, councils and politicians need to raise the profile of this much-needed service

A recent survey by UNISON has highlighted the continuing use of 15 minute home care visits and the impact they have on those requiring care and support and those delivering it.

Caring for older people and people with disabilities is some of the most rewarding work. We want to create a social care system attractive to young people and others who want a career in public service. We want people go home every day knowing they have improved lives and helped create a healthier happier community. We in the Local Government Association will do all we can to help develop this.
