Carmarthenshire councillors have been asked to back the council's decision to indemnify chief executive Mark James in a libel case and reject the judgment of Welsh auditors that this course of action was unlawful.
A meeting of full council to be held later today will be asked to consider a full report into the legal backing Carmarthenshire gave to Mr Jones in making a libel counterclaim against local blogger Jacqui Thompson.
Following a six day trial last year, the blogger's action against the council was thrown out in its entirety.
