Parenting is in itself stressful and many parents struggle at different times throughout the lives of their children for a number of different reasons. Most do not come to the attention of specialist services, are able to cope, are resilient and come through the tough times as a family unit. However, those who don't, often need support quickly either to avert a crisis, or to defuse one.

An innovative service in Buckinghamshire is helping families in crisis to put their lives back on track and is preventing scores of young people from being taken into care.
