Cautious welcome for rates retention plan

Copeland BC’s directly-elected mayor has cautiously welcomed news his authority will be able to retain business rates from the proposed Moorside Nuclear Power Station.

Copeland BC's directly-elected mayor has cautiously welcomed news his authority will be able to retain business rates from the proposed Moorside Nuclear Power Station.

Prime minister David Cameron confirmed in a letter to local MP Sue Hayman last week that local authorities in West Cumbria will be able to keep all business rates from the power station.
