CBI puts 'local people' at the head of council prosperity

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has insisted council tax payers' views must be central to the reform of local government.

Empowering neighbourhoods: delivering better local services for local people, a report released this week by the business lobby group argues engaging with local people presents opportunities for councils to improve services. It also claims in many areas this is being achieved where private sector providers are working in partnership with councils.
