County Local Enterprise Partnership areas are forecast to deliver twice as many new jobs than their city counterparts using funds from the Growth Deal, analysis by the County Councils Network (CCN) has shown.
CCN researchers said despite receiving a third less funding per head than cities, county areas would have created 297,300 jobs by 2021, compared to 101,000 in the 10 Core Cities – equivalent to eight jobs per 1,000 residents compared to four per 1,000 residents.
