Central government borrowing falls ahead of Autumn Statement

Chancellor Philip Hammond received good news today in advance of his Autumn Statement with latest figures showing that government borrowing fell last month.

Chancellor Philip Hammond received good news today in advance of his Autumn Statement with latest figures showing that government borrowing fell last month.

In October borrowing decreased by £1.6bn to £4.8bn compared to October 2015 thanks to better than expected tax revenues.
