One of local government's leading think-tanks, the Centre for Cities, is part of an elite research group chosen to take forward the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth.

The What Works centre was set up by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to improve the policy evidence underpinning local growth programmes.
