Financially struggling councils should ‘reach out for help', says the interim chief executive of a local authority that has ‘delivered a £42m budget saving'.

Interim chief executive at Dudley MBC Balvinder Heran told the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny (CfGS) annual conference in Birmingham: ‘We asked for help in Dudley, and I was quite overwhelmed with how much came back.
