David Prior is to be new chair of the Care Quality Commission. He is currently chairman of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Prior said: 'I am delighted to have been appointed chairman of the commission. It is the only job that could have persuaded me to leave Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
