All change at EHRC in wake of recent review

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is to be scaled back in size and stripped of some duties.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is to be scaled back in size and stripped of some duties, including assessing how public bodies deal with class-based inequality when developing policy, Home Office ministers announced on 15 May.

Contained in a written ministerial statement, the move comes days after the equality watchdog issued a critical assessment of the Government's 2010 spending review.
