Yesterday’s Independent reported an important letter from Clare Gerada, chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to the Prime Minister. In it she asked for a seat at the table to implement the Bill when it becomes law and called for an end to the vitriolic argument that has gone on.
She is reported as having written last week to the Prime Minister saying that “Now is the time to restate our similarities rather than continually focus on our differences”. She says that she want to find “a way through the tensions” and adds that she is writing in the hope that she can find an “acceptable way forward in which the RCGP is able to work with the Government towards the future stability of the NHS”.
