Changing the culture of commercialisation

The debates raging at the LGA Conference made it clear local government’s approach to commercialisation is changing. Christopher Plumley and Katherine Fairclough explain the culture change required to harness this transformation

As the dust settled on the exhibition stands and the ice cream melted on the pier, the 2016 LGA Conference in Bournemouth came to a close with some clear messages. One that really resonated was ‘the need for commercialisation in the public sector'.

The word ‘commercialisation' has been used a lot over the last few years so this isn't new, but there is some new thinking.
