Changing the behaviour of teenage drinkers, as well as attitudes towards the young by older residents, won Derry City Council an award in The MJ Local Government Achievement Awards 2012.

Like many cities and towns, Derry in Northern Ireland, had a problem with under-age drinking. But its new initiative has successfully addressed the problem, reduced crime by 43%, transformed the lives of many residents, and invigorated community spirit.
