By ensuring the right balance of care is available across Hampshire, and enabling people to live as independently as possible, the county is freeing up resources for those with specialist needs, writes Liz Fairhurst.

One of the biggest challenges facing us is managing the growing demand for care and support from an increasing ageing population during a time of severe financial constraints.

In order to meet this challenge we need to think differently, modernise services and develop a new kind of relationship with providers.
