Charitable status for national science and arts organisation

The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) has become an independent charity.

Universities and science minister David Willets gave the go ahead for the organisation to ditch its 14 year-old status as a non-departmental public body on 1 April, using powers under the Public Bodies Act 2011.
