Charities slam controversial Work Programme

Almost half of the charities involved with the Work Programme claim they are using their own reserves to keep the contracts going.

Almost half of the charities involved with the Government's controversial Work Programme have claimed they are dipping into their own reserves to keep the contracts going.

In a report published today by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), 48% of charities said they were subsidising the delivery of the programme from their own reserves.
