Charities have warned they are facing a 'triple whammy' of rising costs, increased demand for services and public sector spending cuts.

New figures released by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) show income from statutory grants in the third sector have fallen from £5.3bn in 2003/4 to £3bn in 2009/10.
