Charities 'subsidising delivery' of Work Programme

Charities are being forced to dip into their own finances to keep the Government's Work Programme afloat, it has been claimed.

Charities are being forced to dip into their own finances to keep the Government's flagship Work Programme contracts afloat, it has been claimed.

According to a survey by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), 48% of charities said they were subsidising the delivery of the controversial programme from their own reserves. A similar number – 47% – said they felt their Work Programme contracts were at risk of failure within the next six months.
