Charities have warned the Government's new Children and Families Bill does not go far enough in tackling poverty.

Charities have warned the Government's new Children and Families Bill does not go far enough in tackling poverty, and could fail to speed up the adoption process.

The Bill was announced last week as part of the Queen's Speech, and includes a commitment to expedite care proceedings in family courts, strengthen the role of the children's commissioner, and introduce a single assessment process for young people with special educational needs.
