Chief calls on charities to 'engage' with councillors

The National Association of Voluntary and Community Associations has called on charities to lobby their local councillors more.

The chief executive of the National Association of Voluntary and Community Associations (NAVCA) has called on charities to lobby their local councillors more.

Speaking at the Charity Finance Directors' Group's northern conference in Manchester, Kevin Curley, said charity bosses were often reluctant to engage with local politicians, but warned that lobbying was necessary to build more credibility.
