Merran McRae has been named as Calderdale MBC's new chief executive, following a meeting of the council's employment committee.

Currently director of wellbeing and communities at Kirklees MBC, where she has been employed for the past four years, Ms McRae has been responsible for the biggest spending directorate in the council, which includes communities and leisure and adult social care services.
