Worcestershire CC's new chief executive, Paul Robinson, has dismissed claims that local authorities do not have the skills to manage private finance initiative (PFI) contracts.

In January, a report by the Institute for Government claimed local authorities lacked the skills necessary to manage PFI contracts and risked not getting the best value for money.
