New chief executive at Hartlepool Council

A panel of councillors has unanimously recommended who should be its next chief executive.

A panel of councillors has unanimously recommended that Dave Stubbs should become Hartlepool Council's next chief executive.

An eight-strong cross-party appointments panel – chaired by council chairman, Stephen Akers-Belcher – will recommend to a meeting of all councillors on 18 October that Mr Stubbs replace former chief executive Paul Walker, who retired last year.
