Chief executives call for talks over DIP reforms

Council chiefs have urged the Government to repeal measures aimed at making it easier to dismiss council chief executives and instead hold talks with local authority employers and senior managers.

Council chiefs have urged the Government to repeal measures aimed at making it easier to dismiss council chief executives and instead hold talks with local authority employers and senior managers.

The demand is contained in a strongly-worded letter sent from Rob Tinlin, chairman of the Association of Local Authority Chief Executives (ALACE), to Paul Roswell, deputy director for democracy at the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
