EMPLOYER: City of London Council

SALARY: £87,030 - £98,540 p.a. inclusive of London Weighting & Market Forces Supplement, dependent on experience/performance.

CLOSING DATE: 09 November 2011

DESCRIPTION

The City of London Corporation is an exceptional place to work. Right at the heart of one of the world's great cities, we provide services to business, residents and visitors, not just in the Square Mile, but across London. As well as running universally recognised institutions such as Tower Bridge, the Guildhall and the Barbican, we're involved in some of the Capital's most significant building and regeneration projects.

Working at the centre of the City of London's operations, the Chief Information Officer will enjoy the opportunity to lead across both our publicly and privately funded services as well as our charitable activities. This is a high profile role and quite uniquely rewarding.

Providing direction and leadership to the Information Systems Division, you will lead a newly reorganised and unified service. You will understand the importance of information technology and its systems as being a key contributor in formulating the City Corporation's strategic goals.

Holding a relevant degree level qualification, you'll have substantial professional experience, including some time spent in a management role with both strategic and operational responsibilities (ideally in the context of public service and partner agencies). You'll have proven your ability to manage and motivate teams and in working with managed services providers to achieve significant sustainable service improvements and outstanding results.

You should have expertise in a number of technological fields. However, your leadership capabilities, business acumen and strategic perspective will take precedence. An exceptional communicator, you'll be capable of building effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and be comfortable as an expert adviser to Members and senior managers.

For more information, please visit our website or call our retained consultant, Darren Meeks at Prospectus on 07545 124 068.

Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 9th November 2011. Assessments/Final Interviews: w/c 28 November & 5 December 2011.
