The Government's response to the Munro review into child protection has been welcomed as an opportunity to free social workers from onerous Whitehall-imposed form-filling.

The Department for Education (DfE) has written to all schools, children's service directors and early years providers to outline the changes for long-term reform through reducing central regulation and prescription.
