'Keep children's social care within the sector'

Children’s services directors have insisted that support for improvement should be sector-owned and sector-led after a new tender opportunity raised questions over the Government’s position.

Children's services directors have insisted that support for improvement should be sector-owned and sector-led after a new tender opportunity raised questions over the Government's position.

The MJ exclusively revealed last week that the Department for Education had launched a tender exercise to ‘procure expertise to provide improvement support and challenge to local authorities that have under-performing children's social care services'.
