The numbers waiting for secure children’s home placements has doubled in a year, showing the need for the Government to tackle a severe lack of provision, says the Local Government Association (LGA).

The numbers waiting for secure children's home placements has doubled in a year, showing the need for the Government to tackle a severe lack of provision, says the Local Government Association (LGA).

The LGA has called for an overhaul of the system used to place children in secure children's homes (SCHs), with the introduction of a national commissioning service for co-ordinating placements.
