The leader of Chorley BC has insisted his authority could still break away from Lancashire, after an independent commission recommended closer partnership working instead of wholesale reorganisation.

The leader of Chorley BC has insisted his authority could still break away from Lancashire, after an independent commission recommended closer partnership working instead of wholesale reorganisation.

The commission, which was chaired by Warrington BC chief executive Steve Broomhead, published its recommendations last week, after a two-day hearing in March looked at the future of public services in the borough.
