CIPFA 2013: Debate about the state yet to begin, says Flanders

Welfare and health will increasingly take a greater share of public spending as other services are reduced through cuts, BBC economics editor Stephanie Flanders told the CIPFA conference today.

Ms Flanders told the public sector delegates: ‘While the debate about austerity is nearing its end the debate about the state has barely begun.
