Most councils putting together efficiency plans to take advantage of the Government's multi-year settlement offer should not have to do any extra major work, finance experts have advised.

Top tips produced by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and the Local Government Association (LGA), seen by The MJ, suggest the plans need not be any more than an ‘abridged version' of existing key public documents already put together by councils.
