Circle blames care crisis for hospital exit

The healthcare operator Circle has announced it wants to ditch its contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire, blaming record numbers of accident and emergency (A&E) admissions and a lack of care places.

The healthcare operator Circle has announced it wants to ditch its contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire, blaming record numbers of accident and emergency (A&E) admissions and a lack of care places.

Circle took over the running of the hospital in 2012, but announced today that it was ‘no longer sustainable under current terms' and it wanted to exit from the agreement.
