Cities in bidding war to snare green bank

Regional bidding war starts over the future of the Government’s £3bn Green Investment Bank (GIB), and its estimated 50 jobs.

A regional bidding war has started over the future of the Government's £3bn Green Investment Bank (GIB), and its estimated 50 jobs, with a decision expected by the end of March.

So far, 22 locations have announced an interest in hosting the GIB – including Edinburgh, Liverpool, London and Manchester. They are competing with a number of regions, such as Yorkshire. Wales has also made a bid to host the new organisation.
