Cities can bring economic and policy substance to the levelling up agenda

A report from the OECD underlines that Core Cities still do not contribute their full potential to national prosperity, says Cllr Nick Forbes. But we can build on our experiences in handling the pandemic to create a platform for recovery, he adds.

Our cities are moving slowly towards recovery from COVID-19, but systemic problems need to be tackled and we must work together with Government to create better lives for millions of our citizens.

That's not just my view as chair of Core Cities UK, it is also the view of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) expressed in its new report Leveraging Productivity in UK Core Cities for Post-Covid-19 Recovery
