The new term has brought fresh impetus to my work as we continue to devolve power and resources to cities, towns and counties across the UK.
The work started with the decisive ‘No' vote from Scotland on 18 September as prime minister David Cameron said in his speech the next morning: ‘To those in Scotland sceptical of the constitutional promises made, let me say this: we have delivered on devolution under this government and we will do so again in the next Parliament'.
