City of London Corporation's new town clerk

City of London Corporation has announced its new town clerk.

John Barradell, chief executive of Brighton and Hove City Council, has been named as the City of London Corporation's (CLC) new town clerk and chief executive. He will replace the CLC's outgoing town clerk and chief executive, Chris Duffield, who is retiring after working in local government for almost 40 years.

Mr Barradell will take up his new role in the autumn. He joined Brighton and Hove in 2009 from Westminster City Council, where he had been deputy chief executive since 2006.
