More than 40,000 civil servants are at risk of losing their jobs under a new performance management regime, according to Cabinet secretary, Sir Jeremy Heywood.

More than 40,000 civil servants are at risk of losing their jobs under a new performance management regime, according to Cabinet secretary, Sir Jeremy Heywood.

Sir Jeremy told members of the Commons' public administration select committee that a forthcoming White Paper on civil service reform could result in the dismissal of the poorest-performing 10% of staff.
