The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has announced the appointment of Helen Woolley as its new director general, as Martin Jamieson resigned from the role to become chief executive of a major healthcare company.

CLA president Harry Cotterell said: 'Mr Jamieson has led a restructuring of the association with great skill, knowledge, diligence and determination. We now have in place an enduring structure suited to the 21st century for which we thank him.
