Communities secretary Greg Clark has been accused of attempting to ‘cover up' cuts to local government, bringing councils to the brink of ‘ruin'.

Labour's shadow communities minister Steve Reed said the Government was working to ‘conceal broken promises' over protecting local services, supporting social care services and shoring up budgets through devolved financial freedoms.
