Clegg names City Deals shortlist

Ministers today named a further 20 English cities invited to bid for City Deal status – potentially giving them greater power and control to drive local economic growth.

Ministers today named a further 20 English cities invited to bid for City Deal status – potentially giving them greater power and control to drive local economic growth.

Each of the 14 next largest cities and their local economic partnerships (LEPs) and the next six which have seen the highest population growth in the last decade, must submit initial proposals by 15 January 2013, in a bidding process the Government hopes to conclude by November 2013.
