Clinician urges joint action to streamline cash

The Department of Health’s top clinician has admitted the health sector has been ‘over-funded’, and urged PCTs and councils to work together to make funding go further.

Speaking at the Local Government Association's conference on the Comprehensive Spending Review last week, the national director for primary care at the Department of Health, Dr David Colin-Thome, said: ‘It [the Spending Review] was better news for social care than I was expecting.'
