Closing the 'them and us' housing divide

The decision to close a tax loophole that allows second homeowners to avoid paying council tax or business rates should make communities stronger in places like South Hams, says Cllr Judy Pearce.

Last month, the Government announced it was closing the tax loophole which allows second homeowners to avoid paying any business rates or council tax on their properties.

After two years campaigning for this change alongside our local MP Anthony Mangnall,  it is excellent news that we have made the situation fairer.
