Coastal towns set to split £16m grant

Eric Pickles has announced support for twenty seaside projects to receive funds of £16m from the Coastal Communities Fund.

Twenty seaside projects will receive a combined £16m from the Coastal Communities Fund to support job creation and business growth, communities secretary Eric Pickles has announced.

Scarborough BC has been granted almost £2.6m – the largest award under the second round of the Government scheme – to support developments contributing to the creation of 206 direct and 2,500 indirect local jobs, while Sunderland City Council is set to receive a £2m boost.
