'Coasting' schools with mediocre performance will face quicker government intervention, education secretary Nicky Morgan has said.

Under plans to be unveiled in the Queen's Speech, ‘coasting' schools rated as ‘requiring improvement' could be forcibly converted into academies.

Mrs Morgan told Andrew Marr yesterday that the Bill would be focused on two types of schools, the first of which were failing institutions in special measures in need of swift intervention.
