Plans for a combined authority in Merseyside will help deliver improvements to the economy, waste and infrastructure, according to the leader of Wirral Council.

Local authorities in the region are set to discuss plans to create a combined authority over the next few weeks, with a paper by chief executive, Phil Davies, going before Wirral's Council on 11 July.
