Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has pleaded for help from other local authorities ahead of the upcoming arrival of hundreds of Chagossians.

It comes after the Government launched a new British nationality route for those born on the Indian Ocean territory and their descendants, allowing them to become citizens free of charge. Some 5,000 Chagossians are expected to move to the UK.
