An independent commission in Scotland has called for local communities to be given a stronger say over public services.

The Commission on Strengthening Local Democracy published its interim findings yesterday (24 April), which warn that Scotland is now one of the most centralised countries in the western world.

The commission was set up the by Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (Cosla) to look at how power could be devolved.
