Commissioner orders disclosure of mandarins' salary secrets

The Information Commissioner has ruled the names and salary details of 24 senior Whitehall officials must be disclosed.

Information Commissioner, Christopher Graham, has ruled the names and salary details of 24 senior Whitehall officials must be disclosed for the sake of transparency.

The civil servants, lawyers and quango chiefs refused to grant consent to have their pay published when the salaries of government's top earners were first released last July.
