We need commitment over funding reform timetables

Tracy Bingham hopes the two-year funding settlement will still happen - 'but we need to know what comes after'. Councils need to be able to plan their finances over a timeframe of at least five years, she believes.

I was disappointed to hear the consultation on local government funding has been postponed until September.

It was due to be published before the summer recess, but a new administration is pending and so onto the ice block it goes.
